By a stroke of good luck or fate, I've met & become friends with the lovely
Mike & Aichata Tivier.
Mike is French and has spent 17 years in Ivory Coast and Mali. He crafts exquisite djembe drums & other instruments~ see his Wassoulou Percussions website linked above.
His wife Aichata is from the Wassolou region of Mali and is an accomplished dancer, who has performed with the national ballet.
They have 5 kids, who are well on their way to also becoming skilled musicians and dancers.
I've had such fun getting to know them and taking class at their home! They have welcomed me warmly and seem like instant friends.
